The ASEAN IP Academy launches its first training program on IP and Emerging Technologies – with a special focus on AI

The ASEAN IP Academy, in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and supported by the IP Academy of the IP Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) , is pleased to launch its first training program on the topic of “IP and Emerging Technologies – with special focus on Artificial Intelligence”.

This program is targeted at IP Officials, researchers, technology specialists and policy makers in ASEAN. The program aims to enable participants to identify challenges posed by the different types of emerging technologies, propose suitable IP protection for these technologies and get a sense of how AI is being used to support and streamline procedures in the IP Office.

The four day training program will include topics on challenges and opportunities presented by emerging technologies such as generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), Metaverse, Blockchain and Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs). It will also explore the intersection between AI and human creativity and its protection under Copyright.
